Level 1 Certification Overview
This
course is designed to meet and exceed ISO 18436 and the SNT-TC-1A recommended
practices.
The
training programme combines both theoretical and practical activities blended
together to provide a positive learning experience. The theoretical
information is essential for understanding the real world problems that face
Thermographers in the field today. This is combined with hands-on operator
training that teaches how to use infrared instruments. Our trainers are
highly qualified and experienced and they can teach you not only basic system
operation, but also the finer points of your specific piece of equipment and
give you the knowledge utilise the tools at your disposal.
You
will also learn the principles behind the main applications of Infrared
Thermography and study how industries incorporate this technology into
different businesses. Our trainers will teach how to create professional
reports and the processes that are used by qualified Thermographers. After
completing the course you will have an understanding of the techniques and
reporting procedures necessary to put together an effective predictive
maintenance program.

Level 2 Certification
Overview
This hands-on course will assist you in developing your camera operating
skills and highlight new inspection procedures and applications. The level 2
training will aid in advancing your infrared condition monitoring programme or
consulting services. This course provides the opportunity to study software
programmes and examine IR trending.
You will gain the knowledge of the importance of NDT applications and
attaining superior measurement skills, to improve accuracy and diagnosis. Our
trainers will discuss the benefits of Infrared Thermography and can devise
appropriate strategies for individual business requirements. This can
incorporate concepts such as marketing, as well as thermal analysis and
inspection techniques. Specialist one-on-one sessions, in depth post course
support and manual upgrades are also included in the level 2 course.

Camera Operator Outline
This practical course is designed to give students the ability to utilise the
infrared equipment at their disposal. This included gaining a full
understanding of all the functions of particular models and how, when, and why
these functions are important. Developing camera operating skills will assist
in highlighting new inspection procedures and Thermographic applications.
The camera operator course is structured around several main areas. These
areas are; a proficiency exam, a practical test, a workshop observation, field
inspection techniques, and analysing professional reports. Within this
structure a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills will be taught
encompassing topics such as, equipment features and operation, optics and
accessories, software and report generation, and object analysis and
applications.

Overview
This course will provide the knowledge for participants to develop the
appropriate skills to be able to initiate and manage an Infrared Thermographic
Programme. Trainers will look at how to establish techniques and procedures,
interpret codes, and study international standards. The course will provide
an understanding of the information necessary to direct other Thermographers
to provide written procedures and purchase suitable equipment.

Thermography Course
This course is run in
conjunction with Salford University. Please click
here to register.
This course will show you how to identify conduction and convection losses
such as missing, inadequate and improperly installed insulation, air movement
through the building envelope, improper air sealing and missing air barriers.
Results of moisture problems are a deterioration of the building enclosure
which will lead to reduced energy efficiency, structural damage and in many
cases, mold and bacteria growth.
This course will show you
how to locate
moisture problems well
before they become
visibly apparent,
and, identify the source
of the problem. Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning
problems along with electrical and mechanical inspection will be reviewed in
this comprehensive course.
Blowerdoor Courses
This course is run in conjunction with
Salford University. Please

The Institute of Infrared Thermography is offering a Blowerdoor evaluation
course. This course will teach the essential competencies needed to construct
a Blowerdoor and perform efficient Air Tightness Testing. All equipment will
be provided and participants will be instructed how to use the equipment,
software packages and operate all the Blowerdoor apparatus. Inspection
techniques will include guidelines of how and when to use complimentary
instruments such as moisture sensors, smoke guns etc. The theory element of
the course will focus on standards and data collection techniques and how to
deliver an effective report.
The Institute of Infrared Thermography have access to a range of products and
software. This allows students attending the course to gain knowledge of
different products and identify which equipment is most suitable for their
specific application. The emphasis is on gaining ‘hands on’ experience and
participation in all aspects of conducting tests.
