Report Reminder

The Institute of Infrared Thermography is currently processing reports that have been submitted from level 1 and camera operator courses.  It is important that students compile a report for assessment to complete the certification process. The Institute recommends that reports should be completed between 6 & 12 months after attending the training course.

IRT cannot grant level 1 SNT-TC-1A certification until a report has been submitted which passes assessment by the IRT evaluation board.

The new IRT wallet cards are now available for students who have completed all the requirements for level 1 certification.  If you would like to receive a wallet card, send a digital passport style photograph when you present your report for evaluation.

ISO Examination
As part of a drive to improve industry standards IRT have been heavily involved with the British Institute of Non Destructive Testing (BINDT) in developing a new internationally recognised third party certification qualification for personnel involved in infrared condition monitoring applications.  This new standard will require an examination to be held at a BINDT registered AEC (Approved Examination Centre).  The Institute of Infrared Thermography has been involved in this initiative because we believe that the certification process (based on ISO 18436) will promote high standards of ‘Best Practice’ in Infrared Thermography around the world.  This new standard   promises transparency across the industry by ensuring that all participants who hold BINDT certification will have achieved this using the same criteria.

IRT is a BINDT Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) which means that the Institute can offer this new ISO examination as part of our service to clients as an independent training provider.  If you have attended an IRT Level 1 course you may be eligible to take the ISO examination.  The Institute is holding refresher days on 20th July and the 12th October for all level 1 students that wish to gain this prestigious qualification.
