Sample Reports
This is an example of the typical style of report that professional thermographers use. Infrared Camera’s will usually include powerful software that can be used for report generation. IRT can help you get the most out of software and Infrared equipment. The report layout includes both the visual picture and the infrared image, this is recommended practise when compiling potential problems as it provides the maximum effect for the report. Another technique that is also used is to have a single image and have part of the picture in real colour and part as an infrared image. This high contrast effect can be effective to demonstrate anomalies, the problem with this style is that it may be difficult for other inspections to find the location of the fault.
Colour Palettes Colour Palettes can be used to highlight different aspects of an infrared image. The simple black and white image shows clearly the main area of interest within the object. Thermographers will tend to uses all the different palettes in order to highlight different anomalies. The use of different palettes is a matter of individual taste. While a colourful image can provide a higher impact it is important to always maintain that the best palette to use is the one that highlights the area of interest in an image. The iron brow colour palette is a popular choice for thermographers when they are compiling reports.
